As a whole, we people have always needed to express ourselves to others. From cave walls to the Louvre. From telegraphing to texting. From social visits to social media.
Self-expression creates community. It’s also part of our self-awareness process.
When we share with others, we actually create ourselves. Because what we focus our attention on, grows. We are magnets, in that what we offer attracts more of the same right back at us.
Who do you want to be? Okay, that’s pretty huge. Let’s begin with, What kind of day do you wish to have today?

The good news is that this is flexible. If you don’t like the current story of your life, or maybe just a particular chapter or passage, then change it. Begin by attending to how you visit and what you share with others.
When I describe a major event (such as a new job, empty nesting, or the passing of a parent) as going through a difficult time, then that’s exactly what it becomes. Yet when I describe the same situation as navigating a new normal, or charting change, or even maneuvering a milestone, I now have an entirely different experience of this life process. And I know which one feels better to me.
Beginning to make this switch is as simple as one word . I can start with going from “What’s wrong?” to “What’s up?”
What we pass along is who we become. What are you creating with your Likes and Shares? (Click to Tweet this. Yes, that’s irony.)

Did you have any Ahas? What would you like to attract more of in your life? Is it easier to forget to attend to what we express because of social media, or is it the same as when we did it over the phone or across the table from someone? Create yourself in the comments below. We’ll create ourselves together as we read and respond. 🙂
Work at Play

You are really, really good at adulting.
You work your fabulous job. You put nourishing meals in your body. You’re connected with and contributing to others — whether it’s a partner, children, a pet, a darn good friend, or an online community.
When was the last time you truly let go, just for a moment, just for fun?
Think of yourself when you were little, and when fun just oozed out of your pores. Likely this is before you began school, when your days then turned more regimented by default. Find a memory of a moment when you were completely, totally, 100% in the present, having fun. That’s what play feels like.
Easily Increase Your Abundance With This Simple Action

Do you randomly receive hits to do spontaneous acts of kindness?
For example, when it crosses your mind at a drive-through window how great it would be to pay for the meal of the person behind you.
Or, as you walk out to get your package from the UPS driver you realize that a water or juice from your fridge might make their day.
How about when you pick up your produce at the family fruit/veggie stand, and it occurs to you to add a buck or two just because.
We get these thoughts often. However, we usually act on them sporadically, rarely, or not at all. We’re selective with our generosity, afraid of compromising our own abundance by giving too much of it away.
But here’s the surprising thing about abundance: It’s not really about the “stuff.”

Radical Enoughness

In a defiant response to our April snowstorm I unpacked my tote of summer clothing.
You see, in my cozy-house world I have seasonal clothing rotation. Fall/winter and spring/summer attire take turns living between the available drawers/closet and storage totes. Sorta like a trousseau timeshare. And although the cacophony of frogs outside has suddenly silenced in response to a surprise return to near-freezing temps, breaking out my sandals is soothing to my spring snow snarkiness.

And — bonus! As I unpacked and organized, I made a breakthrough connection.

What do Albert Einstein, Wayne Dyer, Abraham, and Marie Forleo have in common? A genius motivational message.
Let’s face it. We all need a little boost sometimes, a gentle kick in the pants to get us moving. We receive the great ideas, the inspirations, the downloads, but we sometimes become bogged down with what to do with them from there. We get the What, but we haven’t figured out the How.
Here is a simple yet effective process to move our ideas from theory into reality:
