Cultivating Joy

blog-5-22-14

Joy is the birthright of every one of us. It’s why we are here. It’s what we receive, it’s what we contribute. Joy is the essence of what we are.

Joy must be:

  • Invited
  • Beckoned
  • Welcomed
  • Tended
  • Embraced
  • Nurtured
  • Nursed
  • Protected
  • Cherished
  • Sustained
  • Valued
  • Honored
  • Treasured
  • …and sometimes Created.

Joy is not about denying other feelings we may be having. Joy is about nourishing ourselves while we are having them.

Joy is not instead of, but in addition to.

Joy despite.

Eyes wide open joy that sees the world for what is is and chooses to remain soft anyway.

Have a joyous day, dear ones.

  1. I appreciate your response, Wendy! This concept moved me deeply, too. It continues to.
Joy is a state of grace. A way of navigating through life. Not dependent upon circumstance, and also undeterred by the same. Wow. ❤
