Let That $#!% Go

Just for today

Consider that holding anger is like holding a hot coal

And not throwing it.

So if you’re carrying thoughts about getting even, or withdrawing

or of having been wronged

or are feeling a little bit like a martyr (surprise!),

Then imagine that you are standing on a high cliff

looking out to sea

and throw that anger as far out and away as you can

watching it sail into the air

and drop into the waves

hearing a faint hiss as

it transforms.

In what ways might you be holding sneaky anger, that you didn’t realize until just now? Give it a windup and launch that hot mess. Can you feel your palm no longer burning?

It’s not your job to fix it, only to launch it.
