Random AoK

Just for today
perform a random act of kindness.
And the thing about random acts of kindness
is that they must be…well, random.
Oh, and the one that you gift a kindness to
is a whole other person than the one to return a kindness back atcha.
(Although receiving one from the same person is a happy bonus.)
So smile at the checkout dude.
Let that lady out in front of you in traffic.
Open a door for the next person
even if they’re not immediately behind you.
Be verbally patient with that friendly, muddy dog.
Wash your spouse’s left-behind dish again
without saying anything.
And notice how your random acts of kindness
become contagious
in a good way.
In creating random acts of kindness, others will pattern you
and pass them on.
This is actually incredibly awesome.
You’ll see.

Think about your day today. Can you perform a random act of kindness, no matter how small?
What random act of kindness have you received? Did you recognize it? How did you feel?
