Supercharge your morning (part 11)
“What is one thing you can do this morning to make all your tomorrows be your best yet?”
Just for this morning
Watch the world go by.
Stop
Observe
Absorb
Enjoy
Holy wow, for how much I need to consider this right now. I seem to be spinning up into can’t-get-everything-done mode, and am finding myself more and more anxious and stressed. Which, to be honest, has creeped up on me yet again. Right now, I’m owning it. I’m taking the above suggestion, and although it may seem counter-intuitive, here’s how it’s helping :
If I get really honest, there are always a lot of things that are waiting for me to get to. Job components, household cleaning, personal interests, regular meals… The externals are always there. But the thing is, it’s my state of mind that sets the tone. Am I frantic, or am I calm as I move through my day? The internals determine how I feel.
And how I feel, actually, is what I directly create.
It’s the difference between anxious & frantic, and peaceful & calm — all while the things get done, anyway.
Let that sink in: the things will still get done, either way.
Stopping, observing, absorbing, and enjoying brings me back to the present moment — the peaceful part of me — and I am able to turn away from my spinning up about it all.
And I remember that “busy” doesn’t have to mean overwhelmed. It simply means my attention is on something.
What do you want your attention on, today? How do you want to feel about it?
