Just for this morning
Imagine the time between each tick lengthens.
What will you do with that extra time?
Set to it.
Make space. Ooohhhh, what a gift. Self-care. I love the idea of imagining lengthening the time between seconds, that was new for me.
Other ways I have found to make space include taking a deep breath.
And then another.
Although it seems counterintuitve, another way to create space in your busy day is to pause. To actually stop what you are trying to get done in time, and to go do something else.
Take a brief walk. Go get the mail. Throw the ball for your dog. Water the plants. Straighten the room. Start a load of laundry. Reload your water mug.
And then come back to your task at hand. You’ll find that it’s different, somehow. More spacious.
And here’s one more way I have found to create space:
Open your heart.
Imagine your heart as a vessel, a container. Any shape and design you desire. (One has already come to mind, right? Play with that imagery.) Now, imagine it full of space.
No, that is not empty. It is the very opposite of empty.
Can you feel that?
Open your shoulders. Straighten your spine. Lead with your heart.
